Ofsted Inspections
Following an inspection at Hockerill in June 2022 by Ofsted we are delighted to share the very positive report below, reflecting the excellent work that continues to be done across the College by so many.
As a state boarding school, Hockerill receives two separate Ofsted inspections, one for school and one for boarding. These can be found below.
School Inspection 2022
The school has been graded as “Good” overall in the most recent section 5 inspection.
The grades in each inspection category are as follows:
Category | Grade |
---|---|
Quality of education | Outstanding |
Behaviour and attitudes | Good |
Personal development | Outstanding |
Leadership and management | Good |
Sixth Form provision | Outstanding |
Ofsted states:
Boarders and day pupils are happy here. They enjoy studying the school’s ambitiously broad range of academic subjects from Year 7 to Year 13. Leaders have high expectations for pupils and have designed a curriculum that matches these ambitions. Leaders expect pupils to reach high academic success and also make sure that pupils experience a very broad range of enrichment activities.
Boarding Inspection 2023
Ofsted judged the overall experiences and progress of pupils in our school as "Good". It reported :
Boarders receive child-centred care and support from staff who know them well. The boarders make considerable social, emotional and educational progress because of the support that they receive.
Boarders are enormously proud of their school. Their feedback about the quality of education is exceedingly positive. Attendance levels for boarders in education are exceptional. Boarding staff and academic staff work in partnership to provide consistency and stability. As a result of this collaboration, boarders are supported to achieve great success in their studies.
