Our curriculum spans the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme at Key Stage 3, a wide range of GCSEs at Key Stage 4, and the globally acclaimed IB Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form.

IB Middle Years Programme

In the Middle Years Programme, students benefit from a dynamic and internationally focused curriculum. Students study two modern foreign languages, choosing from French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, and Spanish. Adding to the uniqueness of our programme, some students also study History and Geography in French or German during Years 9 and 10, fostering bilingual competence and a deeper cultural understanding.

IB Middle Years Programme for Years 7-9

GCSE

At Key Stage 4, students transition into an EBacc-focused curriculum, preparing them for a broad selection of GCSE examinations. Lessons continue to integrate the IB’s ‘Approaches to Teaching and Learning’ methodology, emphasising critical thinking, concept-based learning, and global awareness. Hockerill students consistently achieve outstanding GCSE results, placing the College among the top-performing schools nationally.

GCSE for Years 10-11

IB Diploma

In the Sixth Form, students embark on the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), widely considered the gold standard in post-16 education.
