Author Tia Fisher Visits

We were thrilled to welcome Tia Fisher, award-winning author of Crossing the Line, to College. Tia spoke with students about her book, career, and the real-life inspiration behind her story, which addresses the serious issue of County Lines drug trafficking. Through personal experience—having seen a close friend’s son become involved in County Lines—Tia conveyed this difficult topic in a way that was both approachable and meaningful, answering students’ questions with insight and empathy throughout her visit.
In addition, Tia led a creative writing workshop in the Library for selected Year 8 and 9 students, focusing on ‘Narrative Verse’. This hands-on session allowed students to work closely with a published author, an opportunity they found both inspiring and rewarding. We thank Tia for a memorable day that enriched our students’ understanding and appreciation of creative storytelling.
