Hockerill Music Festival 2025: A Celebration of Talent and Community

Hockerill Music Festival 2025: A Celebration of Talent and Community

The second Hockerill Music Festival brought over 150 talented students to the stage to perform their chosen solo pieces. With six specialist adjudicators offering valuable feedback, it was an incredible opportunity for growth and inspiration. From seasoned musicians to beginners, students showcased their dedication and passion throughout the week.

The festival featured outstanding performances in piano, brass, woodwind, strings, rock and pop, and vocal music. Industry professionals, including Jill Morton, Patrick Hayes, Hannah Lawrance, Daisy Pepper, and Victoria Calver, provided expert guidance to help students refine their craft.

The Festival Finale Concert was a true highlight, featuring drama performances, the student band Black Velvet, and the Concert Band. The 12 finalists delivered exceptional performances, culminating in the announcement of Hockerill Musicians of the Year—Hanako Ward and Max Khorshidchehr, with Toby Ricketts and Imogen Bow as runners-up.

Beyond the music, the festival showcased the encouragement and camaraderie among students. As we celebrate another successful event, we look forward to Hockerill Music Festival 2026 and another year of musical excellence. Congratulations to all who took part!
